Erector

Erector

Erector—a bizarre futuristic choreography—explores conformism through mechanical, aggressive movements, executed with meticulous precision that is devoid of thought, emotion, and compassion. The pulsating percussion and shrill whistles of Anon’s “Whistle” provide a backdrop for futuristic textures and mechanized isolations, setting a tone that is both bizarre and frightening as individuality becomes all but extinct.

“Carla Lubow’s sci-fi showpiece, Erector, synchronicity depicted the mechanical conformity of a robot world, [while] her whimsical opening duet […] proved that dehumanization has its charms.” – Lewis Segal, Los Angeles Times
